Expected outputs• SP3- Target groups are farmers, operators, processors (SME’s) in the dairy value chain. Farmers will be sensitized on PHL at farm level potentially leading to reduced loss of milk and milk products. Improved milk handling practices will be established, PHL determined along with their causes, while improved storage, handling and processing technologies will be developed and applied. Quality and shelf life problems in dairy products will be analysed and documented. Technologies to improve milk quality and product shelf life will be tested, adapted and implemented. This will contribute to increased quantity and quality of milk products, increased value addition and profitability, more job and income opportunities and increased food security. Technology options and necessary policy adaptations to buffer seasonal variations in supply will be devised and implementation will be supported
